I have been thinking recently about the grace of God at work in the lives of believes. I am so thankful that we are saved by the grace of God. It is his grace that redeems us – but that isn’t all that God’s grace does, it also helps us in training against sin. Titus 2:11-15 says (ESV):

11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. 15 Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.

When I was thinking about this, I saw John Piper post about these verses in his “Look at the Book” series. I’ve always enjoyed this series because it is so simple yet profound. If you don’t know the series, all you have is the Word in front of you, with Piper’s voice in the background, as he digitally marks the text while he teaches.

Below is the link to the study that I think is worth your time. He talks about how the grace of God trains us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions which produces self-control, upright and godly lives. If you are struggling with sin, let it be a lifeline to the Word and the grace of God. If you are weary, keep pressing on. It is about 17 minutes and I hope you are bless by it.

If you watch it, let me know what you think.

God bless you all!
