Here’s the outline from last night’s study in 1 John.

- We keep His commandments (2:3)
- We don’t live a life defined by sin (3:6)
- We love in deed and truth (3:18-19, 4:7)
- The Spirit tells us (3:24)
What Knowing God is:
We don’t always experience these things perfectly in this life, but we do have them, and we are growing in them…

Sum Up:
“Relationship” with God, “knowing God”, is being alive to Him spiritually by:
- Experiencing him over time, getting to know him like anyone else (1,4,6,7,8,13,14)
- Having a “private life” with Him (1,5,9)
- Having a new inner environment dominated by him (2,3,11)
- Learning a whole new set of facts (8,17)
