A while ago on the Senior High blog I posted that I had heard someone say, about Jesus,
“He was beautiful, but became ugly, so that we who are ugly can become beautiful.”
Now this is a great thought. If you saw that post you’ll be a little ahead of the game on this, but I thought that, for today, I’d throw this out as food for thought and a discussion question:
Can you think of other areas where Jesus became took our place, to allow us to become what we are not? Other sentences like this one, which are are equally true and encouraging?
If verses come to mind, note them too.
did anyone post 2 Corinthians 8:9? that’s where my mind went to initially. this quote is thought provoking. i like how the quote says “can become beautfitul”. this gives the person the responsibility to make the choice. my only dilemma in this is that i too often choose ugliness over the beauty of God…
