Walking in the Spirit Together: Notes from Last Night

by | Mar 6, 2012 | Monday Study Notes | 0 comments

Last night we concluded our six-week look at walking in the Spirit by looking specifically at what the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) looks like, practically, in our relationships as Christians.

What does the fruit of the Spirit look like in practice?

 1.    Acts 2:42 – Devotion to the central things:   (Faithfulness & Love)

  • Learning & teaching our central beliefs (apostolic teaching)
  • Sharing our lives together (fellowship) (v.44-45)
  • Remembering Christ’s work (breaking bread)
  • Asking God for things together (prayers)
Remember: The Spirit cmes by a believing hearing of the Gospel.
This is what the first believers did. (Gal 4:2)

2.    Acts 2:44-47 – A reorientation of our daily life: our stuff, our time, in public, in private, in large groups, in homes.  (Love, Faithfulness, Kindness, Goodness)

3.    Acts 2:46-37 – A new kind of character whenever we’re together: Gladness, simplicity of heart, Praising God, favor with all, new people saved (Joy, Peace)

4.    Phil 2:1-4 – A commitment to one-mindedness by others-esteem (Gentleness/Meekness)

5.    Eph 4:1-3 – Doing the hard work of bearing with each other. (Patience, Self-Control)

6.   Col 3:12-15 – Complete forgiveness. (“Supernaturally restored relationships”)
